Credential and competency-based interviews are terms that denote the same concept. A CBA, however, does not mean that you can sit in a chair and get a passing score in this interview. Not every candidate for a CBA, be it the CBA of an industrial organization or the CBA of an educational institution, is equally qualified.
People are capable of doing particular things. If one has not seen a particular trade or profession for many years, then these capabilities can be compromised. Even more, it is sometimes difficult to identify the competencies of a professional or an academic for their work-related skills.
Competency-based interview is used in three or four cases. Competency-based interview was also used to evaluate the work of financial institutions or companies. In these situations, a majority of the candidates will be subject to a focus group. By this, these candidates are exposed to the real market for financial services and what the real needs of the customers are. These things are supposed to help assess your skills and abilities so that you can come up with the right and correct answers for the entire interview.
Competency-based interview is also used in the case of an educational institution. If you have an undergraduate degree, it is an education-based study that will help you come up with the right answers. Those who are graduates of an advanced degree do not have to rely on the education-based tests as much. It is the competency-based interviews that let you focus more on the areas of your academic knowledge that can help you pass the employer's test.
The company's policy or regulation on the requirement to be employable is also an area that will influence the procedure of the competency-based interview. The requisites or conditions of a CBA are set out by a particular company's policy. The department of education, for example, will have to be equipped with information on the different points to help people to know the competencies of the institution.
It is not at all an easy thing to pass the competency-based interview. It is, however, possible to overcome it. What matters is the best that you can do in getting the right information from the companies that have to hire you.
The best way to prepare for this type of exam is to study for it through proper and strong points. You should focus on the areas of your academic life that you are aware of. You should learn and study what is actually necessary for the interview and how you will answer it. You should also get ready yourself for the review session.
Two common questions will come up during the job interview. The first one is the cover letter. If you do not get to put a particular mark on it, you should read the questions before the interview.
The second question is the competency-based interview. The employers ask questions such as the personality test and the performance test. One of the questions they ask is the morality test. It will help the employer to assess your character and if you are fit to work in the company.
